South Boston High School is built.
1901
Architect: Herbert Hale. Designed in the Classical Revival style, the buff brick building is located on the former site of the South Boston Reservoir at 95 G Street. An addition is built in 1937. The school is divided into three, individual schools – Excel, Monument, and Odyssey High Schools – and renamed the South Boston Educational Complex in 2003. The school becomes Excel High School in 2011, and is scheduled to close in 2026.
